Wedding Special ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ‘ฐ

In an age where anything goes and rightly so, my question to you should anything go on your big day? Let’s take a step back and really weigh up the pro’s and con’s of breaking from tradition.

Your big day is exactly that it’s YOUR big day and you have every right to celebrate it whatever way you wish. With that being said just because we are into a certain style or because everyone else is into is this something you will look back in 20 years and think yea I still think I look amazing or are you simply going to cringe and hide your wedding album in the attic in hopes nobody ever sees how ridiculous you looked!
The theory came about 8 years ago when I went for drinks in a much older friends home and she whipped out her wedding album. Let me paint the picture this lady was what I considered very stylish and let’s keep in mind she got married in the ’80s. I laughed so hard at the big puffy shoulders, meraign style dress and two French plaits!!
I think this is a lesson we can learn from just because it is the style at the time doesn’t mean it’s the right choice for your big day!!
On the other hand this year alone there have been some incredible alternative wedding gowns that are simple and elegant enough to stand the test of time ….

Sologne, Poppy and Olivia are all fantastic examples of breaking away slightly from tradition but keeping it elegant and timeless.

Then we have the traditional ladies and who better to use as an example then Princess Catherine on her big day…

A couple of other tradition dresses we are seeing a lot of late is Kate Moss with the more simple dress or Hilary Duff in the iconic Ver Wang gown…

These are all fantastic examples of great looks to go for but just to reaffirm dated choices here are a couple of celebs who have looked back and maybe regretted their choice.

Let’s talk hair!! I have two rules when it comes to your hair on your big day, #1: if you never wear your hair up don’t start on you wedding day you will feel uncomfortable and it’s not your personality and #2 keep it soft and simple … Here are some good examples …

And lastly take a look at those six pictures again and look at how simple and classic their make up is. Let’s face it (excuse the pun) but the last thing your groom wants to see is a stranger walking up the aisle. Understated and classic is the ONLY way to go with makeup on your wedding day!
I hope this give you some inspiration for your fabulous day x
