Mach and Mach

So besides New York, Paris, London and Milan Fashion Week there are actually so many other fashion weeks including Russia and there was one show in particular that really caught my eye and that is Mach and Mach.

This collection is for the fearless for sure, now please don’t forget what I am always saying try not to focus on the wildness of it all zoom in on the pieces because they are exactly what you long for in your wardrobe.

This collection is for the empowered woman who fears nothing and has no boundaries or limits and it shows in all that she does or wears in this case.

If this duo keeps this momentum up with their designs this is a label who we will see at the bigger fashion weeks!

The Oscars 2017

What an interesting night, from Emma Stone winning Best Actress to the LaLa Land being called out for best picture maybe the fashion was reflecting the night.
When we saw this years stars take to the Red Carpet for the globes the lack of imagination or gold lace was every where, now fast forward to the Oscars and we saw a lot more originality.

I will start by adding Jessica Biel, I adored her in this Kaufman Franco gown but it’s the Tiffany & co necklace that really made the look come together .

And of course we must give a nod to the winner of the Best actress Emma Stone in this 1920’s flapper style gown.

And keeping on that theme Olivia Cupla killed it in this Marchesa gown.

The girl who stole the night for me both at the Oscars and at the Vanity Fair party was Emma Roberts and as for that firey red hair she looked every inch the Hollywood Star and to that is what the Oscars are about.

When it comes to award season there is always one lady who stands out and nails it every time and I really thought it was going to be Michelle Williams but I wasn’t overly wowed by here although her and Bizzy Philips were the most adorable pair over this award season.

Now back to my point of the overall Award season best dressed has to go to Taraji P Henson!! I thought she oozed glamour and was spot on every time and her Oscar look in this navy velvet Alberta Ferretti gown … just wow!

Some of the gowns were on the sexy side for the Oscars .. Jennifer I’m looking at you ☺️

And speaking of unusual Oscar looks, I loved this Calvin Klein gown Naomi Harris wore and those shoes 😍. She then slipped into a Grecian style gown for the Vanity fair party.

And of course the Vanity Fair party was where the real fashion came alive such stars as Kate Hudson really earned their fashion stripes last night.

There was one lady that I was really impressed with and that was Lily Collins, I really feel that sometimes she’s made look older than she is by some of the choices she has gone with in the past but this look is fun, sexy and very polished and big thumbs up for me.

Until next year folks 🥂

Moschino Fall ’17

Moschino is definitely a larger than life brand and it seems to be getting bigger every season so you can imagine my surprise when the first part of the show was beige.

On closer inspection of course I quickly realised that the models were actually boxes 😂

Not to be disappointed we still got quintessential Moschino in your face prints.
I’ve always said if you nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. It’s not that I have anything bad to say it’s just ALOT but if I look at it like I do every other show the “pieces” are individually great.

And just to really catch me off guard Jeremy Scott decides to throw in a few subdued looks that I adore head to toe!!

Gucci Fall ’17

And this Ladies and Gentlemen is how you open Milan Fashion Week, with a whooping 105 looks a chose just some of my favourite looks as I think you would be overwhelmed with all 105 images.

Gucci has had an overhaul thanks to Alessandro Michele, and his new collection is as eccentric as I expected.

Not only has he created an extravagant, whimsical collection for women but he showcased his menswear at the same time and yet somehow it flowed so naturally.

I really am enjoying the rebirth of Gucci, although the collection may seem overwhelming if we look close at the pieces they will most certainly be some of  the most coveted items of the season.

Alessandro Michele reminds us how fashion is a fantasy and everyday we can be a new character 💕

Victoria Beckham AW ’17

It was a pleasure to watch the next step in the evaluation of this label. The matured tailoring and sophisticated lines made this one of her best collections.

This collection is redefining the signature pieces for this winter with a masculine oversized overhaul but with the feminine well placed touches whether it be the sheer blouses and cut out panels.

Her use of colour in this collection is sublime and executed very well.

This was Victoria strongest accessories collection, this to is part of the evaluation. I’ve always been a huge fan of the long leather glove so I can’t wait to wear them this winter especially pairing them an oversized woolly jumper. Of course we have the statement bag that we see the models carrying at their hips, which has become trademark way for the label. I haven’t forgotten the footwear namely the boots, there is definitely a 70’s vibe from these round toe slouchy boots which always go incredible with hemlines that hit your shin.

We can all rest easy this winter knowing that everything is oversized with plenary of layering.

All in all a very strong collection.

SS Trend report (pt 4)

Stripes are the order of the season with some brand doing it better than most.
The fantastic thing about the stripe print it can be interpreted anyway you want. Is it a Hamptons vibe your going for or maybe it’s the disco feeling you have it’s such a broad print to play with and it is very evident this season as each designer put their own twist on how they felt the stripe should be worn.

Plus the stripe can be very slimming once the lines are used correctly.

SS ’17 Trend report (pt 3)

Oh such sheer delight this trend is 💃🏼 Now let’s not panic this doesn’t mean walking around half naked for the next 6 months, because no one needs to see that much flesh in public.
In fact this trend is about beautiful soft Tull material that can be worn and finished in so many ways. We saw a lot of embroidery on the catwalk and layering not just of items of clothing but layering of the material itself to give a babydoll effect.

We have already seen this trend on the red carpet when Drew Barrymore wore it to the Golden Globes.

Remember this is what we call a “romantic” trend that is supposed to be feminine and delicate so don’t be afraid💕
Join me next Friday for another SS trend.

Alexandra Shulman to stand down from Vogue.

It has been announced this morning that Alexandra Shulman will in fact stand down from the most coveted position as British Vogues Editor in Chief this coming June. Alexandra was steered the magazine through its highest circulation and led it through it transition into the digital era. It is a shock to the industry to say the least as Alexandra has been in this role for 25 years.

Alexandra said “It has been very hard to find a rational reason to leave what is unquestionably a fascinating and rewarding role but last autumn I realised that I very much wanted to experience a different life and look forward to a future separate to Vogue.”
She also was behind the first Royal cover of Katherine which she managed to hide from the BBC who spent a months filming a documentary about Vogue to their annoyance but to Vogues delight.

Her predecessor has yet to be announced.

Ralph and Russo

There are mixed feelings about this English brand for various reason none of which I care about. I like what I like and I like this Couture collection.

In an interview co-founder Tamara Ralph said “Often we get orders via What’s App before models have even left the catwalk.” This is a brand that are taking into consideration their clients super busy lifestyles which we all know in the luxury industry that if you don’t go above and beyond there is no hope for your brand lasting especially through adversity.

Once again we are seeing a beautiful dreamy palette and ruffles galore but I still adore this trend because who doesn’t want to feel like a queen for a night.
